Veeri concludes 3 day tour of Pir Panjaal region,
inspects several dev projects, bridges in Surankote

Surankote, , May 02 (Scoop News)- Minister for Public works and Parliamentary Affairs, Abdul Rehman Veeri today concluded his 3 day tour to Pir Panjaal region.
Today, he visited Surankote sub division and took stock of the developmental scenario of the area. He inspected several developmental projects and bridges and link roads and gave directions for speeding up of execution work.
The Minister inspected construction work of Government Degree College complex which is progressing at a cost of Rs.11.67crore. He was apprised that the academic and administrative blocks is coming upon 3557 square meters while as the college has a land of 40 kanals. He was also informed that Rs.4.30crore have so for been incurred on the execution of the project. Veeri directed the executive agency to speed up the construction work and ensure that in March next the building should be commissioned.
Veeri inspected constructions work of Dhundak bridge which is in progress at a cost of Rs.7.14crore .The bridge is connecting dozens of rural villages including Marto, Rehari,Diodi and Lootha. The Minister gave October 2016 deadline for the completion of the bridge.
The Minister also inspected motor able bridge at Fazalabad which is progressing at a cost of Rs.3.30crore.The Minister was informed that the abutments of the bridge have been completed .The Minister directed executive agency to ensure completion of the bridge by October, 2016.The bridge is connecting 4000 people living in Fazalabad ,Choorda, Sagla and Daditalan.
Responding to public demand, the Minister directed Chief Engineer R&B to ensure completion of Foot Bridge at Faru within two months. The foot bridge costs Rs.85lakh.
Veeri also gave instructions for formation of DPR for bye pass road to Surankote town. The proposed road will cost Rs.4.48crore including land compensation.
The Minister on his way addressed various public gatherings and assured them that Government is committed to get High Way status for Rajouri-Bafliaz-Shopian road , which is the key to development whole region of Pir Panjaal.
The minister was accompanied by Chief Engineers of R&B,PMGSY,MD JKPCC ,Superintendent Engineers and other concerned officers, besides Senior leader Balbir Singh.
