Govt committed for upliftment of people: Hanjura

Srinagar, May 02 (Scoop News)- Minister for Agriculture, Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura today visited various areas of Chrar-e- Sharief Constituency to get first hand appraisal of public issues. He also took stock of various ongoing developmental works.
District Development Commissioner, Budgam Mir Altaf Ahmad and senior officers of the district administration accompanied the Minister.
Addressing public gatherings at Namtahal and Rangar villages during his tour, the Minister said that the Government headed by Chief Minister Ms Mehbooba Mufti is committed for the upliftment of the people of the State especially weaker sections of the society.
The Minister said that present dispensation has taken several pro-people initiatives to improve living conditions of public. He said Rs 1.50 crore have been released under Constituency Development Fund (CDF) during 2015-16 for different developmental works in the Charar-e-Sharief Constituency and out of these funds, Rs 1 crore has been utlized for purchase of transformers and Rs 50 lakh for other developmental works.
Enroute, several deputations met the Minister and apprised him about their individual and collective problems which including granting of tribal status for Chopan community, construction of link road for Syed Mohammad Qureshi (SMQ) school, construction of protection bunds, lanes and drains, maintaining of proper demarcation of Azad road, early machdamization of Rangar- Kanira road and settlement of revenue record of Namtahal and Buchroo area.
The Minister gave patient hearing to all the deputationists and assured them that their genuine demands would be looked into on priority. The Minister also gave spot directions for immediate macadamization of roads in Namtahal area.
Responding to the demand of settlement of revenue records in the area, the Minister said necessary measures would be taken soon in this regard.
The Minister also directed the district administration to work with synergy and to come up with the expectations of the people and ensure that the benefits of Centrally Sponsored and State Sector schemes reach to the people well in time.
