| Zubair Ahmad assumes charge of Director Information | | 
Srinagar, May 26 (Scoop News)-Zubair Ahmad (KAS)today took over as the new Director Information of the State. He succeeds Muneer ul Islam who has been posted as Deputy Commissioner, Pulwama.
Zubair has earlier been Member, SSRB, Special Secretary to Chief Secretary, Special Secretary, Finance and Agriculture Production Department besides Joint Director, IMPA &RD and Handicrafts. He was also Deputy Secretary in Chief Minister’s secretariat from 2002 to 2005.
Immediately after taking over, Zubair took an appraisal of the activities of and issues confronting the Department from the officers. He stressed upon the officers to maintain close rapport with the media fraternity terming the Information Department and media fraternity as two important pillars of societal communication and vowed to further cement the relationship between the Department and the media for furthering the goal of an informed and knowledge society.
