NC Minority Cell terms transfers of KP Principals discriminatory
seeks immediate review
Jammu, May 27 (Scoop News)-Minority Cell of Jammu and Kashmir National Conference on Friday expressed anguish over transfer of Kashmiri Pandit Principals to far-off areas notwithstanding having served their tenures in the Ladakh region and far-off areas like Marwah-Warwan and Kishtwar two years ago.

“It is highly discriminative and exposes myopic politics of PDP-BJP dispensation”, M K Yogi, President of the Minority Cell while addressing workers at Sher-e-Kashmir Bhavan.

Yogi said that the transfers of Kashmiri Pandit Principals is in contrast to the so-called transfer policy of the insensitive government and sought immediate cancellation of these orders. He said while similarly placed Principals have been posted within 15 kilometer radius of their places of habitation elsewhere in the State, the KP Principals have been placed in remotest areas of Doda district and Keran areas in the Kashmir Valley.

“The intriguing part of the discriminatory orders is that the Principals have been described as awaiting orders while the fact remains that they are serving in their places of postings”, Yogi said adding that being State Cadre posts the Principals should be posted suitably. He said wherever these Principals have served, the results have been over 70 per cent, which is certainly encouraging keeping in view the pass percentage and merit scenario of the government schools across the state. “These results are even better than some of the model and private schools”, he maintained.

Yogi also referred to the upcoming Dashara Maha Kumbh Mela at Prayag Raj Sangam Shadipur Ganderbal in the Kashmir Valley and sought appropriate security and related arrangements for the mega event. “Being commemorated after 75 years, this is a unique and blissful occasion which calls for synergiased approach between various governmental agencies to ensure hassle free event”, he said and stressed the need for adequate transportation, power and drinking water facilities, medical assistance and elaborate security arrangements in view of the prevailing scenario. He specially sought development of paths upto the ghats and all necessary facilities for the Yatris.

The Minority Cell also discussed various other issues pertaining to the migrant employees, who are serving in the Valley under Prime Minister Employment Package , besides other problems confronted to the displaced people. He sought immediate redressal of these problems and addressing various other issues on priority.

Prominent among those present in the meeting included Bhushan Lal Bhat, former MLC and Chairman NC Minority Cell, Bal Krishan Bhat, Amit Koul, Ramesh Bharti, Ashwani Bhat, Mohan Lal Pandita, Sohan Lal Raina, Bitto Ji, Roshan Lal Master, Shubhan Pandita and others .
