Jammu, May 27 (Scoop News)-A one day workshop on B.Ed.- New Curriculum was organized by Department of Education, University of Jammu, which was attended by 100 participants from Government College of Education and other B.Ed. colleges of Jammu, affiliated to University of Jammu.
The welcome address was given by Prof. Renu Nanda, Head of the Department in which she welcomed all the participants which included principal and lecturers from different colleges and the research scholars. She focused on regular upgradation and improvement of B.Ed. curriculum according to the changing trends in education and society at large. On the occasion Prof. Mubarak Singh, Convenor Board of Studies in Teacher Education emphasized on making B.Ed. curriculum of a standardized nature.
He further added that teachers should train the prospective teachers to become problem solvers and keep on experimenting with the resources available. There was a discussion on internship and sessional work of second, third and fourth semester of B.Ed. including project work which was followed by open discussion where queries raised by the participants were cleared.
The participants also discussed about their experiences of the first and second semester. Prof. Rajiv Rattan Sharma focused on practicability of B.Ed. curriculum. Other faculty members present on the occasion were Prof. Darshana Sharma, Dean Faculty of Education, Dr. Sushanta Panda, Dr. Kajal Manhas, Ms. Minakshi Chaudhary, Dr. Niharika Panda and Dr. Mohan Galgotra. The workshop concluded by the valedictory session followed by distribution of certificates.
