Govt committed to redress grievances of Kashmiri migrants: Ajay Nanda

Srinagar, May 27 (Scoop News)- Minister of State for Relief & Rehabilitation, Finance, Planning, and Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CA&PD), Ajay Nanda has reiterated the commitment of the government to address the grievances of Kashmiri migrants related to relief and other basic facilities.
He said a proposal for release of funds for purchase of ration has been moved to Finance Department which would be approved soon, adding that in future the Kashmiri migrants would not face any inconvenience while getting their quota of ration.
Chairing a meeting of the concerned officers held here today, the Minister said that Talwara migrants would also get ration at par with Kashmiri migrants adding that in this regard the effect of issuance of ration to these migrants would be given from November 18, 2015.
Commissioner Secretary Relief & Rehabilitation, Muhammad Afzal Bhat, senior officers of Relief and rehabilitation, besides other concerned officers attended the meeting.
During the meeting, threadbare discussion was held for providing hassle free ration, relief, healthcare, water supply, electricity, and other basic amenities to the migrants.
On the occasion, the Minister stressed for early issuance of bifurcation of ration cards, and instructed the concerned that the process for this purpose be simplified.
The Minister also directed the concerned authorities to ensure time bound completion of Jagti Hospital building, besides adequate medical facilities and diagnostic equipments be kept available in all health centers for Kashmiri migrants, adding that government is committed to provide all basic facilities to the migrants and any lapses in this regard would be dealt seriously.
The Minister also instructed the concerned departments to coordinate with each other and ensure resolving of issues confronting timely completion of under execution old-age home building and other works at Jagti Township.
The meeting also reviewed the status of distribution of relief to September -2014 flood affected families and traders in the State. He was appraised by the concerned that cent percent relief was provided to the flood affectees under SDRF and PMRF, while the distribution of relief under TAMIER is being provided to the affected families.
