DC Stresses on creating mass awareness, stringent action to curb violations
Ramban, May 27 (Scoop News)-Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Mohammad Aijaz who is also chairman of District Road Safety Committee (DRSC) today convened a meeting to review the status of safety measures put in place to check accidents on the national highway and other roads.
ADC Bubu Ram, ACR, Vevaik Puri, CPO, Parshotam Kumar, ASP Mushtaq Chowdhary ARTO Shami Kumar, Dy SP Kameshwar Puri, CMO, Dy CEO besides concerned officers and representatives of constriction companies attended the meeting.
Threadbare discussion was held on the issues like traffic management, road maintenance, availability of cranes, first aid facility on NH, mobile medical ambulance, provision of men and machinery at the sliding zones, checking of the vehicles, and proper coordination among traffic police, transport authorities and health department.
The DDC while directing the concerned authorities for proper monitoring and taking strict action against the violators stressed that the departments should also reach out to the people and generate mass awareness about the issue. He also emphasized for sensitizing the parents of bikers for safe and secure driving. Further he asked the officers for involving the passengers in these safety initiatives so that they keep a strict watch on the activities of drivers.
He directed the concerned agencies for installing crash barriers, parapets, sinages and hoardings at vulnerable locations like Marog, Panthyal, Battery Chashma, Ramsoo, Nachalna, Gangroo, Sher Bibi, Digdole, Khooni Nallah, Hingni and also at other accident prone areas on the Highway.
The DC also emphasized for evolving the teams of volunteers including NCC squads for making the public more vigilant to curb the practice of underage and delinquent driving.
