DFP organizes a special interactive programme on SOP campaign

Leh,June 29 (Scoop News)-The Directorate of Field Publicity, DFP, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India today organized a special interactive programme on SOP campaign on 2 years of achievements of the Modi government at Elizer Joldan Memorial College, Leh.
Thupstan Chhewang, MP Ladakh was the chief guest on the occasion and others present were EC Works Dorjey Mutup, Mihir Kumar Singh, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Rakesh Badyal-ADC Leh, Neha Jalali- Dy. Dir, DFP, GOI, J&K, DSP Leh, CMO Leh, Dy. CMO, District Panchayat Officer, Manager JKEDI, Assistant Post Master Leh, Principal EJM College, college staff, students, ashas and anganwadi workers and VLWs.

Speaking on the occasion Thupstan Chhewang said information dissemination and awareness generation is important for inclusive development of the State as well as the Nation. He said that people have a right to know and participate in the development process. Taking forward the vision and ideals of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for greater public participation and mobilization Thupstan Chhewang said that people’s participation was centric to development. He said that Prime Minister was devoted to people and connects with them through various means like Mann Ki Baat. In this direction, Tsewang said that DFP had a special responsibility for spreading awareness and empowering people in the remote areas of the country. Tsewang pointed out that Ladakh was one of the remotest and most difficult areas of the country. He expressed satisfaction that such a programme was conducted in the region and encouraged DFP officials to organize such programmes in areas where the reach of mainstream media is limited.

While addressing the gathering Executive Counciller, Works, Dorjey Mutup lauded the implementation of various policies and programmes by Government of India for the transformation of socio-economic conditions of people. He also urged upon the audience to avail maximum benefits of the schemes that have been implemented for the betterment of people.

Mihir Kumar Singh, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting elaborated the mandate of Ministry of Information & Broadcasting in empowering people through information as being the first step in development. He said that Directorate of Field Publicity being one of the Media units of Ministry has been assigned the job to reach the interior pockets to disseminate information and generate awareness at gross root level of various policies and programmes launched by the Government of India for overall development of the nation over by Dr. G. S. Rakwal, Principal Eliezer Joldan Memorial College, Leh. While speaking on this occasion Dr. Rakwal thanked the organizers for selection of their Institute and demanded that such programmes should be organized in future too. These programmes are being organized under the overall supervision of Miss Neha jalali, Deputy Director, DFP, Ministry of |Information & Broadcasting, Govt. of India, Jammu who also presented the Vote of thanks.

ADC Leh, DSP Leh, Dy. CMO, District Panchayat Officer, Manager JKEDI, Assistant Post Master Leh, Principal EJM College also spoke on the occasion highlighting various flagship programmes of government of India, their implementation and progress status in Leh district. The awareness programme was organized by DFP in collaboration with Song & Drama Division on Two Years of Government and is a part of a series of such programmes being organized countrywide. Earlier such programmes have been organized in Budgam and Badherwah by DFP over the last one month.
