JK Minister visits Nubra constituency

Leh, July 27, (Scoop News)-On the second day of his two-day visit to the Nubra constituency, J&K Minister for Ladakh Affairs and Cooperatives Tsering Dorjey Lakrook visited Kubed, Aayee, Aranu Yokma, Aranu Gongma, Khemi, Nyungsted, Gonbo, Tongsted, Henachi, Changlung, Sasoma and Taksha villages to assess the on-going developmental works and to address the grievances of the general public. The minister was accompanied by Executive Councillor for Tourism & CA&PD Tsering Sandup, SDM Nubra Vijay Kumar Sharma, Tehsildar Sumoor, Executive Engineer Special Sub-Division Nubra, BDO Panamik, and other concerned engineers.

Minister Tsering Dorjey addressing the gatherings at various villages talked about the importance of the Ladakh Affairs portfolio which helps in resolving various important developmental and other projects and in solving major and minor issues pertaining to Ladakh, and on assuming this office he hoped of fulfilling the demands of people of Ladakh where there is higher chance of yielding positive results.

Puttig their demands, the villagers of Yarma belt mainly demanded for black-topping of Khemi to Yarma Gonbo road, motorable bridge at Khemi nallah, erection of mobile tower, and sanctioning of Nubra Development Authority.
The Minister Dorjey informed the villagers that tender for black topping has already been forwarded and therefore assured of start of work at the earliest. The project proposal for bridge at Khemi nallah has already been sent to the Central Road Fund and assured of follow up for its early sanction. The mobile towers will be erected by autumn this year and moreover, due to selection of one member from Nubra in the Telecom Advisory Committee and presence of Member Parliament Thupstan Tsewang who is the Chairman of the Committee, there is every hope of early redress of this issue. In addition to it, efforts are also for installation of 3G connectivity which will help solve major communication problem, asserted Dorjey.

The Minister further assured the villagers that effort is going on for opening up of Tourism Development Authority in Nubra to boost the tourism sector of the valley. Talks are going with the government for extending of the tourist permit till Yarma Gonbo, assured Dorjey.

On demanding for completion of Shatsey-Takna bridge by the villagers, the Minister told them that as the time has lapsed and funds has already exhausted, efforts will be made for additional funds for the completion of the bridge.
The villagers at Khemi demanded for opening up of LPG distribution centre to which the EC for Tourism and CA&PD Tsering Sandup said that opening up of one such centre is already sanctioned at Phukpochey and that it will not take much time for opening up of the centre.
At Aranu Yokma, the Minister announced an amount of Rs. 2 lakhs for restoration of irrigation cannal.

Addressing the villagers at various villages, the minister further assured them that all the major and minor problems and issues of the valley will be addressed in the coming years in phase manner.
