Div Com reviews progress of development works in Baramulla

Baramulla, August 27 (Scoop News)- Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir Baseer Ahmad Khan today took a comprehensive review of various developmental projects being executed under core sectors in Baramulla District at a high level meeting of officers of district administration and engineers from various engineering wings at Dakbunglow Baramulla here.
The meeting was informed that against an approved allocation of Rs.231.36 crore under District Plan for the year 2016-2017, an amount of Rs.48.49 crore have been made available against which an amount of Rs.27.59 crore stands expended up to August, 2016.
The meeting was informed, Under R&B Sector, 35.35 kms road length has been macadamized against the target of 97.10 Kms and 36.10 kms road has been blacktopped against the target of 78.05 kms. Further 2421 RM Pucca Drains were constructed against a target of 5436 RM . The meeting was informed that out of the total 31 bridges taken under state sector for 2016-17 against an estimated cost of Rs 5824.92 lakh, work on 8 bridges have been completed and 9 bridges will be completed by the end of current fiscal.
The meeting was informed that 23 Water Supply Schemes were taken up under PHE Sector, of which 3 WSS, which included Wss Kunzar, WSS Cherhar and WSS Chanabal, are expected to be completed during 2016-17.
Reviewing the latest status of availability of essential commodities in the district, the meeting was informed that out of total allocation of 68698 Qtls of rice, 51210 Qtls has been distributed up to August 26 and the distribution of balanced stock is under way. Against the allocation of 4920 Qtls of sugar , 1713 Qtls has been received and the same has been distributed among consumers. With regard to LPG , against the availability of 47270 cylinders, 44660 cylinders have been distributed. Against the availability of 3,16,000 liters of petrol, 234000 liters has been distributed so far.
Similarly, the meeting was informed that, under ICDS sector, there are 12 projects with 2425 Anganwari Centres (AWC), of which 2378 AWC are operational. The tendering process for procurement of nutrition items has been completed and the supply orders has also been placed for the same, the meeting informed and added that out of the total approved outlay of Rs. 2395.99 lakh, Rs. 638.745 lakh have been released and Rs. 573.10 lakh stands expended.
The meeting informed that under PMGSY, as many as 106 schemes were taken up to connect 75 habitations, of which 74 schemes have been completed connecting 69 habitations.
Appreciating the efforts made for providing services to the people by the Health and Food Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FS&CA) Department during the prevailing situation, the Divisional Commissioner stressed upon the Engineering departments to redouble their efforts for achieving the targets.
Directing the Chief Education Officer, Baramulla for ensuring attendance of teachers and students in the schools, the Divisional Commissioner asked to stop the salary of employees who remain absent from their duties. He directed the Deputy Commissioner for holding periodical meeting with the district and sectoral officers on regular basis to review the pace of work on developmental projects and make sure the attendance of the employees in their respective offices. He also directed to constitute a Monitoring Committee to supervise the pace of works being executed under core sectors.
Later, the Divisional Commissioner held a meeting with the members of Civil Society which included representatives of Guruduwara Prabandhak Committee. He listened their demands and assured for their early redressal.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner, Baramulla Dr. Nasir Naqash , SSP, SE R&B, SE Hydraulic, SE PDD ,ADC Baramulla, Joint Director Planning, SDMs , Chief Education Officer, Baramulla , Executive Engineers of PMGSY, PDD, PHE, and all Tehsildars, Executive Officers, Executive Officers of Municipality & other sectoral officers.
