‘Display Your Talent-2016-17’: One Act play, Collage and Poster Making competitions on Day 8


Jammu, September 29, (Scoop News)-One Act play, Collage and Poster Making competitions were conducted today at ‘Display Your Talent-2016-17’organized by the Department of Students Welfare, University of Jammu at Brig. Rajinder Singh Auditorium, University of Jammu.

In One Act Play, ‘Rangnagri’ performed by the students of GCW Gandhi Nagar was declared First. ‘Meri Shadi Karwao’ performed by the team of KC Law College was declared Second and ‘Oedipus Rex’ performed by the team of GCW Parade was declared Third. Richa Sharma from GCW Gandhi Nagar, Meenakshi Bhagat from GCW Parade and Gauri Thakur from GCW Gandhi Nagar were declared First, Second and Third Best Actresses respectively. Sanyam Pandoh from KC Law College, Tushar Chopra from KC Law College and Yuvraj Singh from Trikuta College of Mgt. & Sc. were declared First, Second and Third Best Actors respectively.
Certificates of Merit in Acting were awarded to Anmol Abrol from KC Law College, Randeep Singh from GDC Kathua, Shazia Kousar from KC Law College, Aashima Dutta from Trikuta College of Mgt. & Sc. and Nekha Anthal from GDC Boys Udhampur. Sh Deepak Kumar, Sh. Ravinder Koul and Smt. Sunita Pandit were the Judges and Dr. Kavita Suri was the Teacher In-Charge of the event.
In Collage Making, the participants were given the themes of Pollution, Wildlife and Festivals. Bharti Heer from The Law School, JU was declared First, Deva Sharma from IMFA stood Second and Shubham Dogra from Yogananda College of Engineering & Tech. stood Third. Certificates of Merit were awarded to Vijayta Kashyap from GDC Hira Nagar and Supriya Gupta from SPMR College of Commerce and Hemant Magotra from the Department of Commerce, JU. Sh. Suman Gupta and Sh. Aamir were the Judges and Dr. Madhulika Singh was the Teacher Incharge of the event.
In Poster Making, participants were given the themes of Swachh Bharat, War & Peace and Harmony. Rahul Sharma from GDC Kathua stood First, Muzzafar Ahmad Bhat from Institute of Music and Fine Arts stood Second and Rashmi Singh from GDC Akhnoor stood Third. Certificates of Merit were awarded to Parshottma from The Law School, JU, Lobzang Norboo from Govt. MAM College and Priya Chowdhary from GDC Akhnoor. Sh. Chander Shekhar and Sh Vijay Anand were the Judges. Dr. Virender Koundal was the Teacher In-Charge of the event.
The prize distribution was done in the presence of Prof. Satnam Kour, Dean Students Welfare, Dr. A.R. Manhas, Assistant Dean SW, Judges and Teacher Incharges of the events. The event was coordinated by Mr. Sumeet Sharma (Drama Instructor) and Ms. Ifra Kak (Cultural Officer). Smiksha Mahajan, Sunakshi Gandotra, Ambika Thusu, Kirti Sharma and Abhishek did the Hall Management. The sound was operated by Kulbhushan Thakur. The competition of Western Vocal Solo & Group would be organized on 30 Sept. 2016, 10:00 am onwards at Brig. Rajinder Singh Auditorium.
