Javed Rana concerned over tension along LoC
Mendhar, , September 30,(Scoop News)-Amidst deteriorating relations between India and Pakistan and the resultant worsening security scenario along the Line of Control (LoC), senior National Conference leader and MLA Mendhar, Javed Ahmed Rana, while asking Pakistan to shun the path of terrorism appealed both the countries to resolve all their outstanding issues through civilised and democratic means.
" It seems the art of politics and the ability to engage in serious democratic argument over issues affecting future of humanity is absent in the present dispensations on both sides", Mr. Rana observed while urging both sides to move conscientiously in the direction to end perpetual instability and war hysteria in the region.
While commending the Army for taking to task the perpetrators of terrorist attacks in J&K, Mr. Rana cautioned against any misadventure that may lead to escalations.
Fearing response from Pak side to successful surgical strikes by the Indian Army on terrorists' launch pads at Bimber and Tattapani created fear and insecurity among the people living along the LoC.
"The people of Jammu and Kashmir in general and the inhabitants of villages along the LoC are the worst victims of continued hostility between the two sides", the MLA said and impressed upon the union and the state governments to put in place an effective contingency plan for border inhabitants of Pir Panjal region.
The inhabitants of Pir Panjal region who have tasted a semblance of peace and stability during the last decade won't tolerate any casualties to barbarity on LoC. He urged the Union Home Minister to activate the MHA's Border Management Department in the Pir Panjal region to ensure security and welfare of the border inhabitants.
Meanwhile, Mr. Rana also spoke to senior officers of the district administrations in Pir Panjal region and enquired about the preparations for evacuation, in case the situation along the LoC further worsened.
