Slathia seeks immediate redressal of striking teachers’ grievances

Jammu, September 30, (Scoop News)-Former Minister and Sr Vice President National Conference on Friday expressed concern over continued strike of teachers and decried the lackadaisical attitude of the government in resolving their grievances.
“It doesn’t augur well for the government to force the teachers to take to the streets, as not only the academic of children gets suffered but a wrong message also goes to the society”, Mr Slathia said, hoping the concerned department will wake up from the deep slumber and address to their issues on immediate basis.
He questioned the rationale in the so-called ‘Transfer Melas’, saying this is a cover to justify the postings of favourites to their places of choice. He condemned the pick and chooses policy in effecting transfers, saying that the government must devise a pragmatic transfer policy, which is just and satisfactory for the entire teacher community.
Mr Slathia blamed PDP-BJP dispensation for taking sadistic pleasure in seeing all segments of society suffering and referred to the ongoing strikes of the teachers and daily waged and need based workers of PHE and other departments. He said the government should stop testing patience of those striking on streets for their burning issues.
The former minister exuded confidence that the government will appreciate the urgency of the matter and take effective measures to end the ongoing strike of teachers amicably.
