Mirwaiz condemns govt. for disallowing congregational prayers at Jamia Masjid
accuses ruling coalition of breaking all records of tyranny

Srinagar, September 30, (Scoop news)-APHC leader, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, who is under protective detention, has condemned the government for not allowing congregational Friday prayers at Kashmir’s main mosque, Jamia Masjid Srinagar for the 12th consecutive Friday by imposing restrictions and curbs.

Mirwaiz expressed resentment over the alleged interference and apathy towards the religious rights of the Muslims in a Muslim majority region by the anti Muslim ruling regime.


Stating that while basic human rights of Kashmiri people were allegedly trampled upon through force and might, by curbing the religious rights the point is being driven home.

The ruling PDP/ BJP coalition government is on a course to break all records of repression and tyranny against the people of the region in order to teach them the lesson of submission.

Meanwhile, Hurriyat leader, Moulana Masroor Abbas Ansari led a pro-freedom march from Sazgaripora to Alamgari Bazaar. The participants also protested against not allowing of congregational prayers at Jamia Masjid, Srinagar for the 12th consecutive Friday and the continued arrest of the APHC leader.

Referring to Muharam-ul-Haram programme, Ansari said the programme that the unified leadership would be followed in letter and spirit.
