Petrified KP Employees

By Vikas Razdan

Encounters, attacks on police and army personals, grenade explosions, stone pelting incidents, raising of ISIS flags & Pakistani flags, anti national slogans have always kept the kashmiri Pandit employees petrified from day one they have joined their services in Kashmir Valley. Nobody had ever thought that the employment package for return and rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandits back to valley with honor and dignity will always make them to live in fear psychosis.

With the recent episode of stone pelting incidents on transit accommodations for Kashmiri Pandit employees in Kashmir Valley after killing of dreaded militant Burhan Wani on 8th July 2016, the space for trust has been lost by the employees and many of them have lost the confidence of serving in Valley.
Terrified with ongoing protests which had spread like wild fire throughout Kashmir, Kashmiri Pandit employees living in transit accommodations especially from Kupwara, Baramulla, Hawl Pulwama, Vessu Quazigund and Mattan Anantnag had approached various government agencies to get them evacuated to Jammu under security but all in Vain. Kashmiri Pandit employees had to risk with their lives and leaving Kashmir in such turmoil was their own decision and they started leaving in groups during night hours and many of them had to face the stone Pelters.

Living in frenzy with a complete communication breakdown left employees totally cut off from their family members for day’s together, scared employees no more wanted to keep them in a dilemma as the situation was worsening day by day and there was no option left for employees to leave the valley rather than staying in Kashmir which was on boil.

As reported by various media agencies regarding surfacing of threatening posters in August this year, near transit accommodations for government employees in Hawl Pulwama south Kashmir added to the worries of the employees who had already left the valley. Typed on an unsigned letterhead of a little known organization called Lashkar-e-Islam, the posters have asked all migrants/RSS agents to leave Kashmir or face death. No space for Kashmiri Pandits who want another Israel in Kashmir to kill Kashmiri Muslim,” the posters said. As per the media reports where police said it could be the handiwork of miscreants while as militant outfit Hizbul Mujahideen refuted and blamed India for posters threatening Kashmiri Pandits.Later the police refuted that no such posters existed their.

With the rise in sympathy and local support for the militants and their intermittent appearances at the protest rallies brandishing their weapons much like the early nineties have terrified the Kashmiri Pandit employees.

It has been more than two months hundreds of employees are protesting in Jammu demanding immediate adjustment of all the employees of Hindu minority community in various migrant cells in Jammu till complete return and rehabilitation plan for the whole Kashmiri Pandit community is framed out. State government especially the Chief Minister of the state has yet to break silence over the stone pelting incident on transit accommodations of Kashmir Pandit employees who have lost the confidence of serving in the valley where they have lost their national identity.
