| NC constitutes its youth and women wings in Leh district | | members pay homage to late SM Abdullah |
Leh (Ladakh), December 7, (Scoop News)-In a bid to further consolidate the party at grassroots in after winning two segments in Leh, National Conference (NC) district unit constituted its youth and women wings coinciding with 111 birth anniversary of late Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah.
Tsering Dorjay Korpon was elected as president of NC youth wing while Tsewang Tandup and Arshad Hussain were elected as vice president. Others elected during the meeting included Stanzin Jungness as general secretary and stanzin Gyurmet as cashier.
Similarly, women wing elected Dechen Angmo as party president, Kunzang Dolma as general secretary and Hajra Begum as vice president.
In last election to Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council, NC party won two seats from Turtuk and lower Leh segments in the house of 30 members.
Speaking on the occasion, party leaders recalled the services of late Abdullah and highlighted the contribution of NC party in the development of Ladakh region. They said the party was founded on secular principles.
Even Ladakhi leaders, Rinpoche Kushok Gyalsras Bakula ,Thiksey Rinpoche, Khanpo Rinpochey and Sonam Narbu, Pintoo Nurbu had been associated with the party for the welfare of the people and prosperity of the region, ... |
