Sharma castigates ruling coalition partner BJP for failing to grant ex gratia relief to families of martyrs

JKPCC chief spokesperson, Ravinder Sharma, said that nationalist BJP must apologize to the nation and people of the State especially to the families of martyred soldiers, for having failed to get any ex-gratia relief sanctioned to honour and recognize the sacrifices of those martyred in the State.

He said that BJP partnered government sanctioned ex-gratia relief and jobs to the stone pelters in the valley, but has no courage to get the same sanctioned for those sacrificing lives for the nation, because of fear of loosing power, which is highly shameful and a matter of pity on the “Nationalist” BJP and its ministers.

"Rather the government has sent a very wrong message that it is not ready to honour the supreme sacrifices of soldiers, for obvious reasons, which has the tendency of lowering the morale of forces and hurting the nationalist sentiments," he added.

The same party and its leaders have no right to talk of boosting the morale of the forces and should desist from attempting to make any political capital out of their sacrifices and achievements ....
