Govt committed to fulfill people’s expectations: Priya Sethi
Inaugurates Social Welfare Community Stitching Center

Jammu, February 23, (Scoop News)- Minister of State for Education and Tourism, Priya Sethi said that people have high hopes from the present Government and sole aim of the present Government is to fulfill the expectations of the people.
The Minister was speaking at an inaugural function of a Social Welfare Community Stitching Centre here at Mohalla, Paharian.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said the Government has recently taken several reformative measures to facilitate the beneficiaries and called upon the concerned officers to adopt a pro-active approach in implementing the schemes so that the benefits of all welfare schemes reach to the deserving people only.
She added that the Social Welfare Department has the mandate to help the poorest of the poor and destitute and everyone has to work with missionary spirit to provide succor to these needy sections of the society.
She laid stress on improving the quality of delivery system on ground. The Minister asked the officers to work with extra zeal and dedication to provide best services to the people.
Priya Sethi highlighted various achievements of the Government in the various sectors including IIT, IIMC, FCI and implementation of welfare schemes including Beti Bacho Beti Padhao, National Pensioners Scheme, National Section Assistance Programme and Integrated Social Welfare Scheme to reach out the weaker sections of the society.
She said that it is also aim of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take innovative steps towards the development of weaker sections of the society and women in particular.
The Minister said that the Government has promised corruption free administrative system and measures are taken in this regard.
She said that Government is keen to improve the tourism infrastructure of the state. For this Rs 200 crore have already been allocated to promote the tourism in the region, besides Rs 150 crore project for cable car on PPP mode at Patnitop and Rs 60 crore for Jammu Cable Care projects.
She said that Rs 200 crore have been kept for the construction of multi storey parking at B C Road to ease out the congestion of traffic there. She said Rs one crore has been invested for the renovation of Ranbir Higher Secondary School to boost the education sector. She added that various initiatives are being taken to provide free education to girls in schools, besides 100 Government play school have been started across the Jammu.
Later the Minister distributed cheques among widows, students and pensioners under various welfare schemes like Beti Bacho Beti Padhao, National Pensioners Scheme, National Section Assistance Programme and Integrated Social Welfare Scheme.
While speaking on the occasion, MLA Rajesh Gupta appreciated the Government for taking various reformative steps for the development of the region and also congratulated the Government for starting stitching cum beauty parlour in the area.
He said that this center will provide ten month job oriented diploma to the trainees and will generate employment options in the area.
Political leaders Yudhvir Sethi, Baldev Billoria, and concerned officers of the department were also present of the occasion.
