Govt to revive JK’s industrial sector: Ganga
ICCR, PHD, HRM hold roundtable discussion on ‘Make in India’

Jammu, February 23, (Scoop News)- Indian Council for Cultural Relations, Human Resource Management, University of Jammu in collaboration with Progress Harmony Development (PHD) Chamber of Commerce and Industry today organized Roundtable Discussion on Make in India, Make in J&K at Brigadier Rajinder Singh Auditorium Jammu University here today.
Minister for Industries and Commerce Chander Parkash Ganga was the chief guest on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Ganga said that Make in India is a campaign launched by the Prime Minister; Narendra Modi which facilitates all the big business investors worldwide who intend to carry out business activities in India and it would also largely helps in generating employment avenues in the country.
Ganga added that objective behind launching this campaign in India is to make our nation a well recognized manufacturing powerhouse which will immensely helps in economic growth of the country.
The Minister said that our youth have vast talent, skill, discipline and determination to achieve the desired goal in every sector adding that the new State Industrial Policy will facilitate 'Ease of Doing Business' and give new dimension in making Jammu and Kashmir an investor-friendly destination.
Speaking on the scope of further reforms, the Minister said that launch of various financial and infrastructural schemes are underway including START UP INDIA, MUDRA Yojana and others which are expected to be launched soon in the state and for the purpose he sought support of all stakeholders to give fillip to the Industrial sector in the region.
He said that with the establishment of Big companies like Blue Star, ITC, Dabur, besides Chenab Textile Mills in the region, the local youth of the state will be absorbed in the private sector to earn their livelihood.
He said the Government is working under a well-knit strategy to link artisans of the state involved in traditional and cultural crafts with Industry and Commerce Department within a shortest possible time to provide their products proper visibility, brand value besides streamlining their work and trade culture.
The Minister informed that an effective mechanism has been put in place to empower women entrepreneurs by giving them priority in land allotment and other benefits to establish their own manufacturing units.
The Minister appreciated Progress Harmony Development Chamber of Commerce and Industry for organizing this informative interactive session. He hoped that Chamber acts as a catalyst in the promotion of industry, trade and entrepreneurship in the state.
PHD Chamber is more than an organization of the business community, as it lives by the chosen motto ‘Skilling India for Global Competitiveness’ and contributes significantly to socio-economic development and capacity building in several fields.
Among others , Dean Academic Affairs JU, Professor Deshbandhu Gupta, Professor Neelu Rohmetra, Sr. Vice President - PHD Chamber Anil Khaitan, Chairman PHD Chamber of Commerce J&K Vikrant Kuthiala, Professor Dipankarsen Gupta, Managing Director SIDCO Amit Sharma, President of BBIA, Lalit Mahajan besides officers and dignitaries participated in the programme.
