| Veeri chairs maiden review meeting of Revenue Department | | Asks officials to put in place effective Public Services Delivery System |
Jammu, February 23, (Scoop News)-In a bid to revamp Public Services Delivery System, Minister for Revenue, Disaster Management, Relief Rehabilitation & Reconstruction, Abdul Rehman Veeri today asked officers to form citizen councils and setup nodal agency for the formulation of Below Poverty Line (BPL) beneficiaries’ data which can be used by all the departments.
Speaking at a high level review meeting of Revenue Department, the Minister directed officers and field staff to adhere to timeline in issuance of certificates and documents like Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC), Reserve Category Certificate, Dependent Certificate, Income Certificate, Fard Intikhab, Extract of Girdawari, Extract of Massavi, Extract of Jamabandi, Attestation of Mutation, Marriage certificate and other related documents.
The meeting was attended by Financial Commissioner Revenue Lokesh Jha, Divisional Commissioner Jammu Pawan Kotwal, Commissioner Secretary, Revenue Muhammad Ashraf Mir, Settlement Commissioner, Shahid Inayatullah, Additional Commissioner (FCR) Sunita Anand, Special Secretary Revenue Farooq Ahmed Shah, Custodian Kashmir and Custodian Jammu.
The meeting was informed that land acquisition for construction of Ring Road has been completed. The Minister asked the officers to formulate an inventory for the record of state land in villages, towns and cities. “To make public delivery system more effective, additional manpower will be hired through SSB and PSC soon,” he said.
Veeri also said that modalities for fixing of charges by the department for acquiring land for state/ centrally sponsored schemes would be worked out soon. Veeri said that Government is committed for the grass root level development of all the regions of the state. He also said that newly created administrative units would be made fully functional soon.
Earlier, Commissioner Secretary Revenue, Muhammad Ashraf Mir presented a detailed presentation of the functioning of the department. Mir presented an overlook of the implementation of the Prestigious Digital Land Records Modernization Programme (DILRMP) worth Rs 375.00 crore in the State. He said that Project involves scanning and digitization of the existing land records including village maps, besides survey and re-survey.
Under the DILRMP, Srinagar and Jammu has been taken up for completion of full process in addition to scanning and digitization of the records of entire state within 30 months. The meeting was informed meeting that during the Ist Phase 4710000 documents and 18000 maps have been scanned so far. Mir also informed the meeting that instructions have been passed to all departments to seek title verification of buildings before hiring for official purposes.
