IISM commemorates the graduation of 04th snow skiing course

Srinagar, February 24, (Scoop News)-The Indian Institute of Skiing and Mountaineering celebrated the graduation of its 04th Snow Skiing Course of the season. The course trained over 100 students in skiing skills. The course saw a mosaic of students from all walks of life such as medicine, aviation, entrepreneurs, engineers and school goers. All enrolled students successfully graduated their respective course. Awards were given in the Junior Basic, Senior basic, intermediate and advance skiing categories. A number of consolation prizes were awarded for the young ones who showed extraordinary discipline and hard work during the course.
The chief guest in attendance was Shri Imtiyaz Hussain, SSP, Baramullah. He was welcomed by Sh A.M. Bhatt, OS, IISM who congratulated the students on their achievements. Sh A.M. Bhatt said that the institute has always strived to achieve the highest possible standards for ski training despite financial constraints. He said this was only possible due to the immense co-operation from the institute's staff.
Sh. Imtiyaz Hussain congratulated IISM for such a high standard of training. He praised the principal, Col J.S. Dhillon, SM** under whose aegis, prestige was restored back to this institute. He pointed out that this was now one of the best institutions for students to learn skiing thanks to the constant endeavors by the principal and his team. He congratulated all students and urged them to continue their hard work. He said that the institute was a boon for those willing to take up skiing at a professional level. He also emphasized the fact that with an iron will and a motivation to sweat and toil, we have all the resources, especially the man power to win medals in international competitions. He wished students the very best and advised them to be relentless in achieving their goals.
The ceremony concluded with the presentation of a memento of IISM to the chief guest as a token of gratitude. IISM has only 02 more snow skiing courses to conduct for this season. The courses shall run upto the end of March 2017. The institute is counted as one of the best in the country with state of the art facilities and instructors to provide ski training. The smooth functioning of the institute is ensured by its friendly and helpful administration.
