| Moses inaugurates PCL, affirms full support to media, | | Morup for affiliations with other clubs, Wangchuk gifts V-Sat satellite |
Leh, March 23, (Scoop News)-Commending the role of local media who manage to perform their duties with limited resources despite various impediments, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Moses Kunzang, said the administration will extend full support to media in future.
Inaugurating Press Club Leh (PCL), he said the proposed building which houses PCL will be named as Press Club Building and affirmed to look into providing more rooms to PCL in the same building so that the PCL can carry out its activities smoothly.
Speaking on the occasion president PCL, Morup Stanzin, informed that PCL is in contact with Press Club of India, Press Club Chandigarh and Press Club Jammu for affiliation and interconnection so that local journalists attain enough exposure and the issues concerning the region get wide coverage at the national level.
Sonam Wangchuk, a prominent social activist and founder of SECMOL announced to support PCL with a V-Sat satellite internet connection and also committed rupees one hundred thousand at the disposal of PCL to support students from the region interested in pursuing career in journalism.... |
