| ECI asks JK Govt to put on hold appointment of 16 VCs for PSEs | | Seeks rescinding of orders issued after announcement of bye-poll schedule | Jammu, March 24, (Scoop News)- The Election Commission of India (ECI) has asked the State Government to defer the appointments of 16 Vice-Chairmen/Chairpersons (VC) of the Public Sector Enterprises (PSE) till the completion of process for bye-elections in 2-Srinagar and 3-Anantnag Parliamentary Constituencies in the State.
“The appointments of 16 Vice-Chairmen/Chairpersons of the Public Sector Enterprises may be deferred till the completion of election process and if any formal orders have been issued on or after March 9, 2017, the date of announcement of bye-elections in Srinagar and Anantnag Parliamentary Constituencies in the State, the same may be rescinded with immediate effect,” reads the communiqué from ECI addressed to Chief Electoral Officer, J&K.
