Class 12th student of Kargil falls while attempting to take a selfie on a bridge near Nagrota, loses his life




Apati –Sodh (Kargil), March 26, (Scoop News)-Asgar Ali (21) lost his life when he fell from a bridge near Bantalab (Nagrota) while attempting to take a selfie with his mobile, sources said on Sunday.


“He had suffered multiple organ injuries and finally breathed his last in Government Medical College and Hospitals,” sources added.


Ali, a student of 12th class was studying in Jammu was presently residing on a rented accommodation at New Plots. Sources said that he went on an outing along with his friends in a car when the group reached near Bantalab, Ali asked his friends to stop the car and have a group photograph with Shivalik mountain range in the background.


After this he wanted to click a selfie and it is when he lost his balance and fell down from the bridge, sources said. His friends and other passerby people, however, immediately shifted him to the hospital where he succumbed to his fatal injuries.

The body was handed over to the family after completion of all legal formalities on Saturday


Lawmaker from Kargil, Asgar Karbalia and former lawmaker from Zanskar, Ghulam Raza, visited the bereaved family at Bathendi, on the outskirts of the winter capital city, and were among scores of people who attended his last funeral prayers at Gujjar Nagar.


“The family has been completely devastated, his elder brother is under tremendous shock and is dumbfounded,” Raza told Scoop News.
