| RRB at Samote installs 30 solar street lighting system in village Daraj with all accessories | |
Samote, March 27, (Scoop News)-Rashtriya Rifles Headquarters at Reasi has been contributing immensely towards upliftment and development of local populace in remote areas and is involved in various activities to ensure sustainable peace and prosperity in the region, amidst an environment of trust and harmony.
Most of the villages situated in the higher reaches have no access to electricity. Under Op Sadhbhavana, the Samote based Rashtriya Rifles has installed 30 solar street lighting system with charger generating sets consisting of solar panels, inverters, batteries and LED bulbs in remote village Daraj of Rajouri district.
The low maintenance solar lights will light up the village and enable provisioning of basic requirement of street lighting in addition to vigil throughout the night.
On this occasion, Commander of the Mahore based Rashtriya Rifles Headquarters urged the villagers to come forward and join hands towards development and prosperity of the region.
The Sarpanch of Daraj on behalf of the beneficiaries and the villagers expressed his gratitude towards the Army for undertaking this noble task of providing electricity to the remote area. This initiative has been highly appreciated by locals as it will alter their lifestyle for a better tomorrow.
