“The coming together of Congress and NC is a good omen for the people of J&K”: G N Monga

Srinagar, March 27, (Scoop News)- Terming the BJP-PDP alliance as unholy and opportunist, J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Vice President and MLC G N Monga today said that victory of Congress and National Conference (NC) candidates in the upcoming Parliament by-polls is a foregone conclusion.
In a statement issued to press here, he said, “The coming together of Congress and NC is a good omen for the people of Jammu and Kashmir as both parties are secular. The Congress party’s alliance with the NC is a sign of defeat for the unholy PDP-BJP alliance. Seeing writing on the wall, the PDP-BJP leaders are day by day becoming frustrated and are issuing statements against the Congress-NC in sheer desperation.”
Lashing out at the PDP for terming Congress-NC alliance as “most unholy” for Jammu and Kashmir, he said, “PDP which aligned with RSS backed BJP for the sake of power has no right to speak in such language. PDP fought 2014 elections on the assurance to keep BJP out of power and then for the sake of power aligned with the same BJP whose credentials are known to everybody in the country. The people are now questioning the basis of PDP’s alliance with the NBJP in the back drop of their slogans during election campaign, as they have betrayed their electorate.”
Monga, who is also Congress party’s incharge for Srinagar Parliament seat for the upcoming by-polls, said that PDP joined hands with BJP only for the sake of power. “This unholy alliance has brought only miseries and destruction for the people of the state who will teach them a lesson in the upcoming by-elections.”
The State Congress Vice President said that in the upcoming by-elections the PDP will be routed from Kashmir and BJP will meet the same fate in future elections. “PDP deceived the people of Kashmir and it mortgaged its conscious to the RSS’s ideology and joined hands with the BJP. But now the people of the state have realised how PDP bartered their interests for the sake of power,” he said.
Urging Congress and NC workers to jointly fight against the RSS backed PDP, Monga said, “After touring various districts of the two Parliamentary constituencies going to polls and seeing the mood of the voters, it is now final that the victory of Dr Farooq Abdullah Sahib and Congress President G A Mir Sahib is final. The PDP is in sheer frustration and desperation.”
