| CEC inspects cleanliness drive in Leh town | | 
Leh,March 28, (Scoop News)-CEC LAHDC Dr. Sonam Dawa Lonpo along with councilor Upper Leh Gen Nyantak, councilor Lower Leh Wangldan Shunu, Administrator Municipal Committee Leh Zaidha Bano today inspected Leh town from Karzoo till Skalzangling early morning to check the cleanliness drive.
During the inspection around Leh main bazaar, CEC directed the residents and restaurateurs to get the drinking water tape connections inside their buildings within two days failing which connections will be cut to avoid over spilling of water in the bazaar. He instructed all the shopkeepers to get their sign board made of same size and directed Dr. Zahida to provide them with the size at the earliest. Dr. Dawa also took the decision not to allow any labour to sit in main bazaar to get jobs as Leh polo ground has been made the waiting place for them. He appreciated the work carried by MC Leh in ensuring cleanliness in Leh town and assured full support of council in their endeavour with the involvement of area councilors.
While inspecting the area opposite to new bus stand, Dr. Dawa appealed all the area people not to throw garbage along the road and to cooperate with MC Leh by complaining against people who dispose garbage in that area. He informed that MC Leh is already keeping a vigil day and night on people disposing garbage in the market places and fines have been charged from the defaulters and further warned of severe action like putting in jail if they continue throwing waste where it’s prohibited. CEC instructed NAC to replace the existing urinal at the end of Skalzangling market near airport by setting a pre fabricated urinal on paid basis. He also directed Dr. Zaida to provide with vehicle facility to their supervisors for better coverage of areas to ensure cleanliness.
