CEO reviews arrangements for bye-polls in Ganderbal
Ganderbal,March 28, (Scoop News)-The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Shantmanu, today convened a meeting to review preparedness and security arrangements for the forthcoming bye-polls for 2-Srinagar Parliamentary seat in the Ganderbal district.
District Election Officer (DEO) Ganderbal, Tariq Hussain Ganie, briefed the CEO that for smooth, free and fair conduct of elections, 208 polling stations are being set up to enable 1,64,305 voters to cast their vote in the two assembly segments, 16-Kangan and 17-Ganderbal, of the district. Out of 208 polling stations, 146 are hypersensitive and 62 sensitive. Besides, 30 polling stations have been identified for web casting on the poll day.
The DEO further informed about the locations of strong room, collection and distribution centers and other matters related to the elections. It was also said that awareness programmes among the voters about their voting rights have been organized under SVEEP.
The CEO impressed upon all the officers associated with the election process to ensure all the necessary arrangements for free and fair conduct of elections in their respective areas as per the guidelines of the Election Commission of India. He said elaborate security arrangements are being made for the elections.
