J&K Police killed 17 militants including 10 top commanders in 60 days in Jammu division



Jammu,March 8 (Scoop News) -Jammu and Kashmir police have killed Seventeen militants including ten top commanders in the Jammu divisio since January this year.
This was stated by Inspector General of Police (Jammu Zone) Ashok Gupta in a press conference today.He said that "We have mounted pressure on militants and achieved major success against the terrorist outfits in Jammu division." "As part of our continuing campaign against terrorists, we have killed 10 top commanders of them since January 2010," he added."They were commanders of Harkat-ul-Jehhadi Islami, Hizb-ul-Mujahadeen and Jaish-e-Mohammad," Gupta said.
IG said,"We are alert and our men and officers are working to neutralise all these terrorists or force them to surrender."
Gupta told reporters that these results were achieved due to hard work by field formations/SOG Groups and personal involvement, commitment and meticulously planning of all officers especially Prabhat Singh, SSP Doda, Anand Jain, IPS, SSP Reasi, Dr.Haseeb Mughal, SP Kishtwar, Manmohan Singh, IPS, SSP Poonch, Mubasir Latifi, SP Ramban and S.A.Watli, IPS, SSP Rajouri. Deepak Kumar, IPS, DIG Doda-Kishtwar Range contributed maximum and so also Gulzar Singh Slathia, IPS DIG Udhampur Reasi in preparation of strategy and supervision of operations. Many of these operations were conducted on the basis of intelligence provided by Intelligence Agencies especially CID, IB etc.
