Div Com Kashmir reviews Durbar Move arrangements
Srinagar, April 18, (Scoop News)- Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan today convened a meeting to review arrangements being put in place for ensuing Durbar Move.
Chairing a meeting of officers, the Divisional Commissioner held discussion regarding residential accommodations for move employees, besides sanitation and renovation works to be taken up in Government Quarters.
He directed the officers of the concerned departments to ensure that the renovation and repair work in all the Government residential colonies is completed well in time besides facilities like potable Water, electricity and ration etc are made available.
The Div Com was informed that 2600 rooms in 178 hotels are available for move employees. It was given that different teams shall be deployed by the Estates Department at various colonies and Hotels to facilitate the move employees to their allotted accommodations.
Officials of the SRTC informed the Divisional Commissioner that 60 buses have been made available for Durbar move employees and adequate arrangements will be made to ferry the employees.
The meeting also discussed security arrangements at Secretariat and in the residential quarters for move employees in detail.
On the occasion, the Div Com directed the officials of Floriculture Department for face lifting of the Secretariat lawns and beautification of roads. He also asked the officials of the Traffic Department to frame a comprehensive traffic management plan to regulate the increase in rush of vehicles with the opening of the Durbar in the Summer Capital.
Inspector General of Police, Kashmir Zone, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, VC SDA, DIG Traffic, Commissioner SMC, Director Health Services, Director FCS&CA, Director Floriculture, Chief Engineers of R&B, PHE, UEED & BEACON, SSP Traffic, General Manager SRTC, RTO Kashmir, Deputy Director Estates, Executive Engineer Estates, Deputy Director Planning and other concerned officials were present in the meeting.
