Central team inspects pace of tourism projects at Jammu

Jammu, April 19, (Scoop News)-A central team of Union Ministry of Tourism today inspected pace of progress on tourism projects tekan up under Prime Minister’s Reconstruction Programme (PMRP), Prime Minister’s Development Package (PMDP) (Swadesh Darshan) and other centrally sponsored schemes.
The team visited project sites at Bhagwati Nagar ,Suchetgarh ,Mubarak Mandi heritage complex in Jammu division to take stock of the ongoing Work. The team comprising Ms Bharti - ADG Tourism GOI and Mr Vaibhava Tripathi ADG Ministry of Tourism GOI was briefed by the secretary Tourism Farooq A Shah through power point presentation about the progress on the projects in Jammu Division.
Under these centrally sponsored schemes, Patnitop has got 7 projects costing Rs 18.21 crores, Bhaderwah 9 projects costing Rs 35.16 crores, Poonch 5 Projects costing Rs 19.11 crore , Lakhapur -Sarthal , 5 projects worth Rs 18.91 crores, Kishtwar 8 projects worth Rs 35 crores, Rajouri 5 projects worth Rs 17.82 crores. Unser Rural Tourism development, the region has got 70 projects worth Rs 15 lakh each approximately and for the whole circuit development, 3 projects of Lakhanpur-Basholi-Bani Sarthal circuit, Bhaderwah-Kishtwar-Sinthan circuit and Jammu Rajouri Poonch circuit are being developed under Swadesh Program.
Under PMDP, state has got Mega projects like Mantalai-Sudh Mahadev –Patnitop at a cost of Rs 98 crores and Jammu-Rajouri-Shopian-Pulwama project worth Rs 96.3 crores was also discussed.
The secretary also briefed the team about Ranjit Sagar Dam development project.
The Inspection team expressed satisfaction over the ongoing projects and asked the state Tourism Department to speed up the work and complete these without any delay.
The secretary Tourism, accompanied by JD planning, MD cable car and other officers of the department, assured the visiting team that the projects will be completed within the stipulated time frame.
