Helpline Humanity-AIKS organizes Book Distribution for Jagti migrant students

Jammu, April 26, (Scoop News)- Mata Sarswati Pustakalaya - Library Cum Book Bank, a community project of Helpline Humanity and All India Kashmiri Samaj organized a book distribution function for the Jagti Migrant Township students here the other day to encourage the community children to study and develop the concept of community service.
King C Bharati, (Sr. Journalist & Social Activist) was the Chief Guest while Hira Lal Bhat (JKVM), Prof Indu Aima (Educationist), Maharaj Krishan Koul (Rtd. Sr.Engineer-BSNL) and Ramesh Kumar Dhar,(Principal SOS HG School & Chairman Mata Sarswati Pustakalaya) were guests of honour on the occasion while M K Bhat, (President Helpline Humanity)hosted the well attended function.
Speaking on the occasion King C Bharati appreciated the initiative of the organizers for conducting such book distribution functions for the younger generation and pledged his full support to the initiative.
Bharati said that Library must be the best friend of the students and urged the younger generation of the community to inculcate the habit of book reading alongwith their regular studies to make the community proud.
He said that youth plays important role to uplift the society and asked the students to channelize their energy to seek higher goals in life if they want to wipe out the miseries of the migration within the community.
He also encouraged the youth to seek higher goals and set their eyes on the civil Services for which such small initiatives of community libraries and book distributions play an important role in the long run.
He said that Kashmir migrant youth have an added responsibility to take the educational standards of the community higher in every stream adding the community has been known for its wealth of knowledge all over the world.
Bharati said that students at Jagti Township have shown exemplary interest in books and other activities despite infrastructural and economic constraints adding they should utilize the services of such libraries and develop interest in in-depth reading to succeed in various competitive exams stressing for the participation of the community youth in civil services exams.
He also urged the community to donate old and new books to the library for the benefit of the students.
Senior KP leader Hira Lal Bhat and Mahraj Krishan Koul, retired Sr BSNL Engineer while addressing the students and community members shared some important tips with the students for developing positive thoughts in life and success in their perceived careers.
Prof Indu Aima, prominent educationist and social activist advised the students to prepare for competitive entrance exams by studying hard as hard work has no alternative adding that it was only the hard work which helped the community to survive in adverse conditions after migration.
She also donated very prized books for higher classes to the library and appreciated the effort of Helpline Humanity.
Deliberating about the objectives of the Library MK Pandita, President Helpline Humanity said that the aim of the Helpline Humanity and AIKS is to be setup full-fledged community library cum reading Room for the benefit of youth and elderly persons of Migrant township of Jagti.
He said that the Helpline Humanity has devised a plan of providing the School Text Books and their refreshers courses for higher classes for distribution among deserving students of the township for one full academic session which are later returned back and utilized by fresh batch of students of the community.
He said that in the 1st phase they intend to start free book loaning for classes 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th which would lessen the burden of the parents to a large extent as this chain system would not only bring more books to library but also help the other deserving students of the community repeatedly thus saving a lot of people from financial burden.
Ramesh Kumar Dhar, also spoke on the occasion and appreciated the achievements of helpline humanity while vote of thanks was proposed by R K Thusoo.
Prominent among the community activists of the township who attended the function include Mr Thusoo, Mr Trakroo, Sameer Koul, Manoj Bhat, Miss Archana and Vishal Pandita.
