Secretariat employees hold protest demonstration, demand urgent resolution of their grievances



Jammu, April 26, (Scoop News)-An emergency meeting of Civil Secretariat Coordination Committee was held on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Ghulam Rasool Mir.

Mr. Maqbool Hussain, president Lower Grade Employees Union also participated with all representatives.

The Coordination Committee appreciated the role and support of secretariat employees in making today's call a success and further decided to continue the strike programmee to press for fulfilling the demands like detachment of attached staff, resolving of Estates Issues and constitution of committee to inquire into the orders issued by Director Estates with regard to change of accommodation/ fresh allotments of quarters/ change of quarters on mutual basis without following proper procedure, review of career progression/cadre review of the employees on the establishment of GAD/Planning/Finance/ Law implementation of pay anomaly including 7th pay Commission as implemented on higher ups, Ration problem of Darbar Move Employees, leave travel concession, medical allowances, etc. etc. which has been submitted to government from time to time.

It has been decided in a meeting that there shall be no official business in the offices of Civil Secretariat for next two days but employees are allowed to close records of the offices to keep that ready to dispatch to Srinagar in connection with Darbar Move.

It was further resolved to boycott the opening ceremonial ceremony function of offices at Srinagar on May 8, 2017 (Monday) as a mark of protest for further pressing the Government to fulfill the commitments/demands of employees in a time bound manner. In case the demands are not attended and fulfilled, the agitation shall continue.
