Army pays tribute to Kupwara martyrs



Srinagar, April 28, (Scoop News)- Army paid a rich tribute to soldiers who were martyred in an encounter in Kupwara in North Kashmir.


Defence spokesperson said that the Army today paid homage on behalf of a proud nation to three of its gallant soldiers who embraced martyrdom in Panzgam operation in Kashmir on 27 Apr 2017 during which two terrorists were eliminated.

“Joined by the officials from civil Administration and other Security Forces operating in the Valley, the Chinar Corps Commander Lt Gen JS Sandhu paid rich tributes to Capt Ayush Yadav, Subedar Bhoop Singh Gurjar and Naik Botta Venkata Ramana in a solemn ceremony in BB Cantt, Srinagar,” he said..

Spokesperson said that the young Officer, Capt Ayush Yadav who defied his 25 years of age and had established himself amongst his comrades, as a spirited and daring soldier, is survived by his parents. The martyr hailed from Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. The 46 years old martyr Subedar Bhoop Singh Gurjar of Dausa, Rajasthan had joined the Army in 1992, is proudly remembered by his comrades as a highly professional soldier and a true patriot. He is survived by his wife and two children. A true son of soil, 38 years old Naik Botta Venkata Ramana hailed from Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh had earned the respect of a warrior and was a friend to all. He is survived by his wife and two children.

He said that the mortal remains of the martyrs will be taken to their native places for last rites with full military honours. The Army stands in solidarity with the bereaved families and remains committed to their dignity and well-being.
