| 12 teams from Leh, Nimu and Kargil participate in annual tournament 'Operation Vijay Cup' | | United Khaltsi defeats HSS Khaltsi in final match by five runs | 
Khaltsi(Ladakh), May 9, (Scoop News)-The eleventh edition of Operation Vijay Cup, traditionally organised by the Khaltsi Cricket Club (KCC), which commenced on April 28 and culminated on May 9 evening at the Khaltsi Cricket ground, with United Khaltsi defeating Higher Secondary School Khaltsi in the final match by five runs.
The tournament is extremely popular among the locals and 12 teams from Leh, Nimu and Kargil participated in the tournament supported by Indian Army.
The tournament named as Operation Vijay Cup is organised yearly in the memory of the Kargil martyrs by KCC.
The Semi finals was played between United Khaltsi vs Skurbuchan and Higher Sec School Khaltsi vs Alchinathang.
Final match was played between United Khaltsi and Higher Sec School Khaltsi. United Khaltsi scored 98 runs for 9 wickets and Higher Sec School Khaltsi scored 93 runs for 06 wickets.
Senior officers of the Indian Army, Sarpanch Khaltsi, SHO and other civil dignitaries were present during the ceremony.
Prizes were awarded to the winners and runners-up teams. Individual brilliance was also acknowledged as ‘Man-of-the-Match' to Tundup Namgyal Jigmat, ‘best batsman of the series’ to Tsering Gytso and ‘best bowler of the series’ to Padma Tashi.
Mr. Jigmat Rabgias, president of the KCC, appreciated the efforts of Indian Army which provided assistance in terms of trophies, prizes, sponsoring of kits, cricket gear, refreshments and other arrangements, without which the tournament would not have been a success.
