Government committed to bring quality in Education: Priya Sethi
Poonch, May 21, (Scoop News)- The government of Jammu and Kashmir is committed to bring reforms in education sector and efforts are on with some policy initiatives to achieve excellence in education sector.
This was stated by Minister of State for Education, Priya Sethi while addressing a Seminar on ‘Need of Reforms in Education Sector’ here today which was organized by All Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh Teachers Federation under the aegis of Akhil Bhartiya Rashtriya Shaikshik Mahasangh.
Pardeep Sharma, Member Legislative Council was the guest of honor on the occasion. Apart from Deputy Commissioner, Mohammad Harun & Additional Deputy Commissioner, Gurvinderjeet Singh, the seminar was attended by Chief Education Officer and Principals, teachers and educationists of the district.
Speaking on the occasion the Minister appreciated the efforts of district administration in achieving desirable targets in creating requisite school infrastructure and improving performance of schools in the district in academics.
The speakers on the occasion stressed on overhauling of education departments so that education system grooms up and remains child centric.
Speakers also presented the need of reorganization in the district model under education department as single post of Chief Education Officer in the district, they felt , remains overburdened with both academic and administrative activities. Creation of additional post of Chief Education Officer in the district will not only reduce the burden but the department will function smoothly, they reckoned.
The speakers stressed on the need of provisional of trainings for newly appointed teachers, lecturers, masters, and DDO’s with focus on primary education and accountability of DDo’s and Education Officers.
The Minister said that the Jammu and Kashmir state is blessed with immense potential as the state has produced numerous dynamic statesmen, scientists and writers, who have earned recognition worldwide The Minister said that government will soon come up with corrective measures and structural changes to address the feeling of dejection among teaching community.
