Efforts afoot to make Billawar a model constituency: Dy CM
Inaugurates newly developed Education Infra in Billawar
Kathua, May 27, (Scoop News)- Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh today said that bringing profound changes in education by improving not only infrastructure but also equipping teachers with latest technical know-how is the cornerstone of government`s policy.
He said this while inaugurating additional class rooms at existing school buildings and new school building at Billawar under SSA and RMSA. These additional class rooms, compound walls and new building have been constructed at Govt. Schools of village Manoha, Mandli, Danjasdhar, Thara Kalyal and Ludera.
While addressing the students Dr Singh said that students should be inspired by their teachers for sustained excellence and consistent performance. He also said that only educated youth can bring about noticeable affirmative changes in our society and they should be made aware of various central and state governments’ welfare schemes for maximum proliferation.
After listening to the grievances of people at village Manoha which mainly pertains to road connectivity, water scarcity, PDD and streamlining of ration distribution. Deputy Chief Minister immediately directed the concerned officers to resolve their issues on priority. He also sanctioned 2 Hand Pumps along with 16 electric poles for Manoha besides directed Executive Engineer PDD to immediately replace damaged transformer at village Tehsar.
Highlighting the importance of several welfare schemes Dr Singh said that these schemes are devised for inclusive socio-economic development of society in which upliftment of individual along with improved living conditions gets major thrust.
He also advised the officers to adopt proactive approach while listening to the problems of people and facilitate them by providing requisite documents so that they can yield maximum benefit from these welfare schemes.
Assuring the residents of maximum development Deputy Chief Minister said that several projects amounting to Rs 600 crore were sanctioned for Billawar and few are in pipeline to make Billawar a developed constituency.
Emphasizing on improving PHE and PDD scenario, Dr Singh added that focused attention will be paid to strengthen the existing infra during summer season and sanctioned Rs 1 lakh from his CDF to Scheduled Tribe habitation of village Manoha. 4 Hand Pumps and 2 transformers were also sanctioned for village Khog along with a transformer for SC habitation of village Dramani with an announcement that very soon J&K Bank will open its branch in this far flung village.
Later, Dr Singh kick started work on 6 Km road from village Khog to Mandli under PMGSY to be completed at an estimated cost of Rs 1.60 lakhs.
At village Ludera, Dr Nirmal Singh announced Rs 6 lakhs for ground which will be used to offer Eid prayers along with protection wall and approach road to Upper Primary School besides directed the officers of Rural Development Department to improve connectivity among small hamlets.
Dr Singh also stated that ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’, ‘Jan Dhan Yojana’, ‘Suknaya Samridhi Yojana’, ‘Krishi Sinchai Yojana’ and MUDRA Bank are flagship programmes of the Central Government and they should be properly highlighted through intensive mass media campaigns so that desired results can be achieved.
Deputy Commissioner Kathua Ramesh Kumar, SSP Kathua Suleman Choudhary, CEO Kathua, SDM Billawar and other senior district officers accompanied the Deputy Chief Minister during his visit. ...
