50 Anganwadi Centres allotted Govt buildings
Rajouri, May 28, (Scoop News)-The district administration has issued directions to the Education Department for handing over 50 schools buildings to ICDS Projects in Phase I for making Anganwadi centres functional.
Pursuant to decisions taken in joint meeting of Education and ICDS on May 23, the Education Department has handed over 50 school buildings to ICDS.
Project Officer, ICDS has been asked to furnish these buildings and shift Anganwadi centers. The transferred assets include 133 rooms and 94.70 kanals additional land.
The Rural Development Department will carry out fencing of these premises and plantation while as Tehsildars have been directed for mutation of land in favour of concerned Social Welfare Department with Project Officer, ICDS as custodian of land and buildings. The Education Department will further conduct exercise for providing additional buildings.
The buildings provided to ICDS were spared by Education Department in 2015 due to coloration of schools. Total cost of these buildings is estimated at Rs. 5 crore.
During a comprehensive exercise conducted by district administration, dozens of government buildings in Rajouri have also been traced which would be used for accommodation of various other offices presently running in hired buildings.
The Anganwadi Centres which have been provided buildings in Phase I are located at Potha, Dandesar, Rajal, Pishwalagurah, Mangal Devi, Chak Maidan, Jatta Brahmna, Shah Jamal, Andrari, Takiya, Kangota, Lam wala, Dara Chowkian, Karima Beriali, Panjnara, Mehrote I&II, Kurajegni, GPS Panjnara, Upper Johar, Burshian, Mehjoor Hill, Kha Baryali, Beri Bain, Dokhari, Rumbla Khater, Khaladi, Charan, Danna, Gurah Brahmna, Potha, Panoti, Langar, Sain da Bangla,Tank Mohalla, Kanara, Dharali, Badhoon Thathi, Upper Aiti, Gurah Pattian, Kathanu, Ghai, Kalapra , Lamba Khater, Chakli, Mudwal, Tanda, Dodasan Bala, Narutti, Manjoor and Bhatelli.
DC, Rajouri Shahid Iqbal Choudhary has directed Tehsildars to have in place village coordination committees of parents in collaboration with ICDS Project Officers and field staff for efficient functioning of Anganwadi centres in district.
They have also been directed for regular inspections and extending all help to ICDS staff for setting up and functioning of centres apart from forwarding grievances of field staff from time to time.
