| On International Day of Yoga, Shrine Board organises mega Yoga event | | Katra, June 21, (Scoop News)-As part of celebration of the International Day of Yoga, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board organised a mega Yoga event at its Sports Complex at Katra this morning.
The Yoga event commenced with lighting of the ceremonial lamp by Mr. Ajeet Kumar Sahu, Chief Executive Officer of the Shrine Board, who was the Chief Guest on this occasion. Mr. Anshul Garg and Dr. M. K. Kumar, Additional CEOs of the Board, were also present.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Sahu threw light on the benefits of Yoga, particularly in transforming the body and the mind and living a healthy life. He said that we should make Yoga a part of our daily life.
He thanked all those present on the occasion for their participation in large number on the celebration of International Day of Yoga. He referred to the various sports facilities provided at the Shrine Board’s Sports Complex, adding that one and all should take optimum benefit from these facilities.
On this occasion, the CEO felicitated Miss Akriti, student of class 4th and Master Paryas, student of class 8th, for their laudable performance in Yoga by presenting them mementos. He also presented mementos to Mr. Dayal Ram and Mr. Dinesh Kumar, Yog Gurus, who conducted today’s event comprising various Yoga asanas.
Mr. Amit Vermani, Dy. CEO of the Board, thanked all the participants for making the event a great success, while Mr. Ashok Kumar, Director Sports, SMVDSB, dwelt on the importance of Yoga.
A number of children, prominent citizens, people of the area, pilgrims, officers and staff of the Shrine Board and officers and jawans of CRPF participated in the Yoga event during which a series of asanas and pranayam were performed under the guidance of Yog Gurus, Mr. Dayal Ram and Mr. Dinesh Kumar.... |
