| Women empowerment initiative by army | |
Jammu, June 22, (Scoop News)-In an effort to empower women and enable them to either start their own venture or enhance their potential for gainful employment, the Army is conducted a ‘Stitching and Tailoring Course’ for 20 women of Balakote and nearby villages for a period of four weeks. During the course the participants will be imparted basic knowledge of stitching and tailoring.
Army has taken measures to provide skill development to generate employment for youth and also laid emphasis on women empowerment in the area with introduction of numerous certified skill development courses recognised by the Government. These steps by the Army are seen as a serious effort towards reaching out to the locals of remote areas and towards empowering the youth and women so as to uplift their general standard of living.
