Martyred Police Officer Mohammad Ayoub laid to rest in Nowpora, Srinagar

Srinagar, June 23, (Scoop News)- The martyred Police officer DySP Mohammad Ayoub Pandith was laid to rest at his native place in Nowpora, Srinagar and a huge number of people including police officers friends and relatives attended the Nimaz-e-Jinaza.
Inspector General of Police Munir Ahmad Khan, DIG G.H Bhat, SSP Srinagar Imtiyaz Ismail, SSP Security Maqsood-ul-Zaman and other senior officers and thousands of civilians were present during the Nimaz-e-Jinazah of the Martyr.
The martyr DySP was born in Nowpora in April 1960. After pursuing M.Com and LLB, he joined the police department in 1990 as Sub Inspector. After completing his basic training in SKICC Udhampur in 1992 the said officer was posted in district Pulwama. Thereafter the said officer served as SHO of different Police Stations. He was promoted as DySP in 2013. During his career he has served different wings of District Police, Railways, Vigilance and Security in different capacities. He had received many appreciations for his work and conduct.
The officer is survived by Wife, unmarried son and daughter.
It may be mentioned here that in a shocking and coward incident, a mob attacked a police officer, identified as DySP Shri Mohammad Ayoub resident of Nowpora Khanyar, Srinagar, who was on access control duty at Jamia Masjid Nowhatta. The officer was cornered by an unlawful assembly of people and was lynched to death. The officer was posted in 3rd security Bn.
It is pertinent to mention here that Policemen posted in the security wing of the Jammu and Kashmir Police do not wear uniform as a matter of service regulation.
Srinagar police has registered a case under section 302 RPC and investigation was taken up.
During the course of investigation, two persons involved in the crime have been arrested and some more identified. Efforts are on to nab the other persons involved in the attack.
