Mirwaiz sheds light on philosophy of Eid ul Fitr, addresses congregation over phone
greets faithfuls, terms NIA raids illegal, adopts resolution

Srinagar, June 26, (Scoop News)-APHC leader, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq was not allowed to offer Eid prayers this year as he continues to be under house arrest for the last 4 days.

He addressed the congregation over the phone and shed light on the philosophy of Eid Ul Fitr and also presented a memorandum on behalf of Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik

While felicitating the people of Kashmir and entire Muslim Ummah on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr the leadership saluted the people of the state for their steadfastness towards the movement.

Mirwaiz is under preventive house detention, while Syed Ali Geelani continues to remain under restrictions at his residence. JKLF chief Muhammad Yasin Malik has been lodged in Central Jail Srinagar.

The resolution termed the NIA raids on the houses of separatist leaders and a few Kashmiri business men as illegal and maintained that these are new ploys being used by New Delhi to defame them.

“If such raids doesn’t stop, there will be serious repercussions and the entire responsibility will lie on the State government and Delhi itself,” it reads.


The resolution further read that Kashmir’s separatist leadership makes it clear that they stand with the Muslim brethren of Jammu region and all the designs aimed at created a regional or communal wedge will be defeated.

“In no case, whatever happened in 1947, will not be allowed to repeat,” the resolution reads. The resolution also expressed solidarity with all the political prisoners who are languishing in various jails for no fault and also with those who were framed in fake cases.

“We strongly condemn the government decision of not releasing the Kashmiri prisoners on the eve of Eid-ul-Fitr,” the resolution reads.

The separatist leadership urged the international community and other world human rights organizations to build pressure on Delhi so that alleged rights abuses are stopped in Kashmir. ...
