Congress condemns continued shelling along LoC in Rajouri and Poonch districts
expresses concern over school children getting trapped.




Jammu, July 18, (Scoop News)-Former lawmaker and chief spokesperson of JKPCC, Ravinder Sharma, has expressed grave concern over the heavy shelling in Nowshera today whereby several civilian areas including a High School came under heavy firing.

Strongly condemning Pakistan for continued shelling along the entire LoC in Rajouri-Poonch targeting civilian population during the past few days, he expressed concern over reports of school children getting trapped in Seir area of Nowshera today, while the population of several villages was indoors till last reports poured in.

Sharma talked to the senior officials of the administration to ensure the safe rescue of School kids and other civilian population in vulnerable areas. The civil and police officials were coordinating the rescue efforts to rescue the trapped children.

He impressed upon the Govt. to make adequate arrangements to shift the population from the vulnerable areas and demanded appropriate measures for their permanent shelter and settlement in safer zones in the wake of continuous shelling in these areas during the past few months making it impossible for the population to reside there.

Sharma expressed sympathies with the families of army and civil persons who were martyred or got injured during the past couple of days in twin districts.
