JK Secretariat Employees to hold protest on July 21

Srinagar, July 19, (Scoop News)- An emergency meeting of Civil Secretariat Coordination Committee was held on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Ghulam Rasool Mir and discussed various important issues concerning to employees. Among others, Mr. Maqbool Hussain, President Lower Grade Employees Association also participated

During the course of discussion, the following issues were focused pending since long as no headway has been made so far by the authorities.
Detachment of attached staff is being ignored as the directions of Chief Minister & decisions of Cabinet are not being followed in general, particularly by the Ministers and Officers who are still encouraging such attachments in the Civil Secretariat by way of proxy postings of such staff in Personal Sections.

Constructions of residential quarters proposed at Tulsi Bagh, Ahata Amar Singh, Panjthirthi, Sarwal and Rehari Nallah are being delayed. The CM has already given nod for construction of these quarters but such directions have not been implemented as yet and no progress visible on ground.

Un-warranted enhancement on eatables by JKTDC Canteen, not acceptable to the employees. The Canteen be closed henceforth and new Canteen on the pattern of Corporate Office be immediately established on competitive and open tendering basis.

The employees are suffering badly on account of estate accommodations due to negligent approach of the department. Eviction of illegal occupants is still awaited. It seems that the issue has been shelved by the concerned Authority.

The Coordination Committee has taken serious note of delay tactics/ callous approach of the Authorities with regard to non redressal of aforementioned issues and conveys its displeasure and un-happiness. It is unfortunate that authorities have ignored directions of HCM and Decisions of the Cabinet by proxy posting of attached staff particularly in Personal Sections of Hon’ble Ministers and Officers.

J&K, Civil Secretariat Coordination Committee decided unanimously to hold an hour protest on 21st July, 2017 (Friday) at 10.00 AM as a mark of resentment in the premises of Civil Secretariat, (Lawns) Srinagar to press the Government for immediate redressal of genuine grievances and have their proper redressal without further delay. In case, the authorities prefer to continue their old stand there is no alternative but to carry forward the protest programme for an indefinite period.
