| DC Rajouri finalizes Independence Day arrangements | | Rajouri, July 21, (Scoop News)-District Administration, Rajouri finalized the arrangements for celebration of Independence Day. District Development Commissioner, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary outlined a series of activities and arrangements for celebration of Independence Day.
In view of difficulties faced by participants and guests at the venue of Independence Day and Republic Day celebration during rains the district administration is constructing a 5000 Square Feet shelter pavilion which will accommodate more than 1000 persons. A team of engineers has been entrusted with task of completing the project by end of August first week.
The main function will be held at District Police Line. A number of committees have been constituted for arrangements related to march past, cultural programmes, reception, seating arrangements and issues related to security, traffic management, parking, sanitation, potable drinking water, refreshment, invitation, transportation, fire safety, participation of schools etc were finalised for the celebration of Independence Day.
Rehearsal for independence day celebrations will begin at the District Police Lines on 8th August 2017 while as full dress rehearsal will be held on 13th August 2017. More than 40 contingents and cultural troupes and local students will participation in the celebrations. Flag hoisting and celebrations will also be held at Koteranka, Thanamandi, Nowshera, Sunderbani Sub-Division headquarters, Tehsil Headquarters apart from main offices.
District Development Commissioner has also asked the Rural Development and Education Departments to organise the Independence Day celebrations at every Gram Panchayat headquarters and display the works and achievements of departments in preceding year as well as current year development plan.
SSP Rajouri Yougal Manhas discussed about security arrangements at main venue, sub-divisional and tehsil level celebration venues, traffic management and parking for the event. Addl DC Mumtaz Ali will be nodal officers for arrangements and coordination with departments.
It has been decided that cultural troupes will represent the local cultural and lingual richness and history of the region. Educational institutions have also been asked to train the students for various items in local languages including Pahari, Gojri, Dogri and local dialects. Best performing officials who delivered maximum certificates during the ongoing series of public service delivery camps will also be awarded on the occasion. An exhibition of achievements of different departments and various centrally sponsored schemes for awareness will also be organised on the sidelines of national day.
