Govt working towards JK sustainable development: Mir Zahoor

Srinagar, July 22, (Scoop News)-Minister of State for Forest, Environment, Animal & Sheep Husbandry, Cooperative and Fisheries, Mir Zahoor Ahmad has said that the sustainable development of Jammu and Kashmir State is the mission of the present Government headed by the Chief Minister Ms Mehbooba Mufti. He said in this regard various initiatives are under way and the construction work on various micro and macro developmental projects are apace in the State. He said that our Government is committed to provide basic amenities to the people at their door steps and also ensuring to improve the living standard of the people especially the weaker sections of the society.
The Minister was interacting with the people at different places including Lethpora village in Pampore Constituency during his extensive tour to these areas.
District Development Commissioner, Pulwama, G. M. Dar, Chief Education Officer, Pulwama and other Senior Officers of different departments accompanied the Minister during his visit.
The Minister inspected the site identified for construction of building for Government Higher Secondary School, Lethpora Pampore.
On the occasion, the people of the area complained the Minister about the works taken by the RAMKY on National Highway at Lethpora Village. The Minister asked the Executing Agency RAMKY to look into the matter and take appropriate steps for safeguarding of the people of the area. He also asked them to install signages at the places were construction is going on so that there should be not threat of accident.
During his visit, the Minister also inspected various developmental works under execution in the area. He asked the concerned officers to work with utmost dedication and speed up the pace of work on all ongoing developmental works and complete them in a stipulated time frame.
Enroute, several deputations met the Minister during his tour and apprised him about their individual and collective problems which included issuance of timber, construction of lanes, drains, up-gradation of inner links, replacement of damaged poles, transformers and installation of new transformers. The Minister gave them patient hearing and assured them that their genuine demands will be looked into. In some cases, Mir Zahoor directed the concerned for immediate redressal.
