Creative work needs concentration and concentration important aspect of meditation:Dorjey Motup

Leh,August 11, (Scoop News)-The department of Cultural Academy works hard in preserving our tradition by conducting such workshops, said Executive Councillor for Education Dorjey Motup on the occasion of the concluding day function of 10-day All India Sculptors Camp, 2017 at the Lotsava Auditorium of the Academy, here. A total number of 12 sculptors from various parts of the country like Pune, Bhopal, Delhi, Srinagar, Jammu and regional sculptors participated in the camp and showcased their art on the last day of the camp.
Speaking further EC Motup said presence of renowned sculptors like Mir Imtiyaz from Delhi and Prof. Shabbir Mirza from Srinagar is an encouragement to the participating students. Terming Ladakh as land of endless discovery, he further said that there is scope for various endeavours and therefore it is necessary to share ones knowledge and skill. Encouraging the budding students connected with creativity, he said creative work demands concentration and concentration is an important aspect of meditation and it is only possible in a peace and friendly environment. It is therefore necessary to concentrate on ones creativity and garner the art and give shape to their imagination. He also advised to inculcate the quality of a good human being. Along with others, he especially mentioned the work of Chemet Dorjey, Tsering Gyurmet and Tsering Dorjey, the three of important and few sculptors of Ladakh.
Renowned sculptor from Delhi Mir Imtiyaz speaking on the occasion said such camps facilitate interaction between individuals from different region and identity and therefore such camps should held frequently. Adding further he said that J&K state is famous as seed of knowledge and thus such art form should find its place in the world arena.
Special Officer for Culture Tsewang Paljor delivering the welcome speech said the past ten-days had an impact of learning experience about the importance and value of hard work and perseverance. Despite various limitations the sculptors made the camp success and look forward to such camps at larger scale. Inviting art exhibitors to Ladakh, he said that Ladakh being a peace friendly region as compared to many other regions is open for such exhibitions. He concluded by requesting the sculptors to be ambassador f art of Ladakh.
Foemr Principal Institute of Music and Fine Arts, Srinagar also spoke on the occasion.
EC Dorjey Motup also released their bi-annual publications of Shiraza and their annual publication Lokhor-gyi-deb.
Earlier, EC Dorjey Motup visited the art work of all the sculptors which were inspired and made on themes of life, beauty, knowledge, and various shades of Ladakh.
In between, young flute trainees being trained at the Academy and other musicians and singer entertained the audience with their mesmerising folk songs.
Ven. Tsering Chospel Editor Ladakhi, Cultural Academy presented the vote of thanks. Prominent senior citizens and art lovers were also present on the occasion.
