Bali Baghat chairs Kishtwar DDB review meeting
Directs CMO to submit DPR for face-lifting of DH Inaugurates Govt Urban Health Centre at Kuleed

Kishtwar, August 17, (Scoop News)-Minister for Health and Medical Education Bali Baghat, who is also the chairman of District Development Board Kishtwar, today chaired a DDB review meeting.
The Chairman reviewed the implementation of decisions taken in the board meeting besides taking stock of sector-wise physical and financial achievements registered in the district under district plan.
Minister of state for Transport, PWD (R&B) Sunil Sharma, Vice chairman State Kissan Advisory Board Daljit Singh, MLA Inderwal G.M. Saroori, MLC Firdoos Ahmed Tak, MLC Sajjad Kichloo, DDC G.N. Balwan, SSP Sandeep Wazir, ADC besides heads of various departments attended the meeting.
The DDC presented a detailed report through power point presentation regarding the status of implementation of the decisions taken in the DDB meeting besides physical and financial achievements recorded by different departments for the financial year 2017-18.
The Minister was informed that the approved allocation under district CAPEX budget for the year 2017-18 was Rs 139.11 crore and out of the available amount of Rs 86.65 crore, expenditure to the tune of Rs 72.80 crore has been incurred till ending July 2017 which comes out to be 84%.
Reviewing sector wise performance of the district, it was informed that against the funds released under MGNREGA, Fisheries and Power sector the district has recorded an expenditure of 97 per cent, 94 per cent and 88 percent respectively.
Under PWD (R&B) sector, against the available funds of Rs 541.44 lakh, an expenditure to the tune of Rs 68.94 lakh has been made so far, whereas against the total funds of Rs 49.24 lakh released under Health sector, the department has been able to spent an amount of Rs 15.20 lakh till now.
Regarding status of roads in the district, it was informed that out of the total length of 692.22 km under different sectors, 165.98 km have been black topped so far.
Under MGNREGA, during the current financial year an amount of Rs 70.79 crore has been utilized besides 111 works have been taken up, out of the total approved works of 1850, thereby generating 85400 man days.
It was further informed that under Swach Bharat Misison, 676 IHHL and 02 CSC have been constructed in the district.
Referring to ICDS, it was informed that under "LADLI BETI" scheme 896 cases have been approved and 747 new cases identified up to July 2017. Moreover, survey of 3200 marriageable Girls has been conducted by AWWs and submitted to DSWO for State marriage assistance scheme.
It was informed that under Naigad water supply scheme, 50% of head work is completed and 16 km DI pipes have been laid for gravity main from both the sides and the project is expected to be completed by Apr 2018.
For upgradation of 170km Batote- Sinthan Road, out of allotted cost of Rs.72.76 crore, Rs.31.16 crore have been used so far whereas the construction work on GDC Chatroo has been started by JKPCC.
Speaking in the meeting, Bali Bhagat directed all the officers to strictly implement the decisions taken in the DDB meeting and work in a coordinated manner to achieve desirable results.
The Minister directed the Head of key departments to keep a strict check on quality of works to create durable assets. He asked the concerned departments to put in extra efforts for judicious and effective utilisation of funds and removing bottlenecks, if any.
The Chairman laid special emphasis on rehabilitation of Sukhnai fire victims and directed the Conservator of forest Chenab circle Doda to provide timber to the victims at the earliest.
CMO Kishtwar was directed to submit DPR for facelifting of district hospital kishtwar. It was also impressed upon all the departments to immediately remove the official attachments in their respective offices. Besides, directions were given to Deputy Commissioner to submit a copy of minutes of DDB review meeting to the legislators for verification of implementation of decision taken in it.
Legislators put forth their demands and concerns before the chair, responding to which the Minister directed the concerned officers to take appropriate action in this regard within shortest possible time. He warned the officer that any laxity in this regard shall be dealt very strictly.
Earlier, the Minister inaugurated Govt Urban Health Centre at Kuleed which has been constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 2.18 lakh....
