Mehbooba inaugurates Kissan Ghar; Multi-level Parking slot; Student hostel at Jammu
162 two wheelers, to give respite from traffic congestion in old city

Jammu, August 17, (Scoop News)-Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti, who is on a two visit to the winter capital, today inaugurated the new building of Kissan Ghar at Narwal fruit mandi.
The state of the art guesthouse facility would be having rooms, suits, dining hall and a conference room and it would have a small pantry at every floor. The guest house has been built at a cost of Rs. 5.41 crore over a period of two years.
It may be recalled here that former Chief Minister, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed had laid the foundation of this Kissan Ghar on June 21, 2015 with the aim of making available quality comforts to the members of farming and grower community whenever they visit the winter capital.
Interacting with the representatives of farming and grower community, the Chief Minister wished them well and hoped the establishment of Kissan Ghar would meet their long pending demand. She said her Government has been taking all steps for the welfare of farming community in the State.
Deputy Chief Minister, Dr. Nirmal Singh; Speaker, Kavinder Gupta; Minister for Horticulture, Syed Basharat Bukhari; Minister of State for Horticulture, Priya Sethi; Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Rohit Kansal; Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, M K Bhandari; Secretary, Horticulture, M. H. Malik; officers of Horticulture Department and a large number of people were present on the occasion.
Later in the day, the Chief Minister visited Super Bazaar in old city and inaugurated the multi-level mechanized car parking facility there. Built with latest technology and security parameters, the facility would have capacity to park 352 cars and 162 motorcycles including SUVs. The seven storey facility has been developed by ERA at a cost of Rs. 33.11 crore and it would ease the traffic congestion in old city areas particularly Raghunath Bazaar, Purani Mandi, Kanak Mandi etc by a great measure.

H. Malik; officers of Urban Development Department and District administration, representatives of traders unions and a large number of people were present on the occasion.
Later, Mehbooba Mufti inaugurated Mufti Muhammad Sayeed student’s hostel built by Auqaf Islamia Jammu near the shrine of Hazrat Zaahir Ali Shah (RA) for the stay of beneficiary students.
The hostel would provide accommodation facilities for 100 students intending to pursue studies at Jammu. Built at a cost of Rs. Six crore, the hostel would also have additional facilities of parking, catering and other allied facilities.
The Chief Minister directed maintaining cleanliness at the hostel besides a good stock of books and other study material.
Mehbooba Mufti also visited the shrine of Hazrat Zaahir Ali Shah (RA) and paid her obeisance there.
