J&K Youth Congress pays tributes to Rajiv Gandhi


Jammu, August 20, (Scoop News)-J&K Youth Congress today paid tribute to former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi on his birth anniversary at a function held at Govt.Hospital Gandhi Nagar by organising blood donation camp.
The program was organised by LYC President Th.Hoshiar Singh Chib in the presence of Sh.Shispal Singh National Secretary IYC,Sh.Pranav Shagotra PYC President,Sh Satish Sharma Vice President PYC,Varinder Singh,Rajan Sharma Gen.Secretaries, Chetan Wanchoo, Sandeep Rissam Spokesperson PYC,Anoop Gupta, Ricky Dalotra,Lucky Singh PYC Secretaries.

While paying tribute to Rajiv Gandhi, National Secretary Sh Shispal keharwala said it was Rajiv Gandhi who was instrumental in bringing the digital revolution and making India modern and worked all his life for the eradication of poverty.
He also said that the nation would continue to remain indebted to the Gandhi family for the selfless services and sacrifices given by it for the integrity, security and safety of the Country. The Country has lost a great and revolutionary leader in the assassination of Rajiv Gandhi under whose leadership, the Nation touched new heights in respect of Education, Computer Science, Science Technology and other top sectors befitting people directly.

PYC President Pranav Shagotra remembered Rajiv Gandhi as a great visionary leader who led the nation to become one of the most modern nations of the world.
He also described Rajiv Gandhi as a great statesman and remembered his contributions for the country who sacrificed his life like his mother Indira Gandhi for the sake of Nation. He said that the Congress party and Nehru-Gandhi family has a history of sacrifices for the unity and integrity of the nation.
He further said it was Rajiv Gandhi who initiated the IT revolution for which the BJP was falsely
claiming now.
Shagotra also remembered the former Prime Minister for his role in strengthening the Panchayati Raj institutions and granting voting rights to the youth to strengthen the democratic institutions in the country.
Besides empowerment in Panchayat Raj through 73rd and 74th amendment granting 33% quota to Women and reservation to SCs, STs, and OBCs,” he added.

Vice President Satish Sharma said nothing is more important than the unity and integrity of our nation. He said Rajiv Gandhi was a true visionary as he laid out road map for India's emergence as knowledge economy.
He further said that Gandhi championed information technology and sort to take India into 21st Century. He also described Rajiv Gandhi as highly respectful, humane and nationalist who had his agenda to wipe off terrorism and violence in the country.
"The nation saw in him a good guide, who would lead the country on its onwards journey of peace, prosperity and development. The nation looked aghast when Rajiv Gandhi was assassinated, which created a political vacuum. The nation lost a visionary of India"he added.
LYC President Th.Hoshiar Chib said that Rajiv Gandhi had introduced a technical revolution in the country. He said, “Rajiv Gandhi had brought the telephone once limited to the living rooms of elite to roadside booths for the convenience of the common man. He played a key role in bringing IT industry to India and we are enjoying its fruits now.
